General Dentist
Dr Maria Varlas brings over 15 years of experience to her role at Woodleigh Waters Dental Practice, with a reputation for competency, empathy, and a gentle approach. Graduating with clinical distinction from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, Maria went on to pass the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons examination soon after qualifying, and has continued to further her knowledge through regular courses and seminars.
Her career spans the private and NHS dental sectors in the UK, as well as private practice, community dentistry, and correctional health in Australia. She has a special interest in exodontia, with particular skill in extractions and managing complex cases. Maria is committed to providing her patients with the highest standard of treatment in a calm, supportive environment.
Outside the clinic, Maria lives with her husband and two young children on a farm in Gippsland, where she enjoys life alongside their dog, cows, and chickens. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, photography, and listening to true crime podcasts.
